Steven Nevada Tomlinson, 65, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 in Jonesville. He was a high school graduate of Harrisonburg High School, class of 1973. He was a member of Meyers Bend Pentecostal Church. During his employment years he drove Charles Chip Truck, worked offshore, was a board member on Family Helping Families and retired from Catahoula Correctional Center after 17 ½ years. He loved to work with his honey bees, was an avid gardener, and loved collecting junk trucks, horse trading, old tractors and anything outdoors. His true passion was helping people. Doors were opened to do this more when he became a board member for Family Helping Families. He loved to give to anyone he felt was in need or that he saw needed help. He has distributed food boxes, diapers, heaters, sheets and many other items. To some he may have seemed gruff, but he had a very soft heart under his rough exterior. He had a great love for his fellow man.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul W. Tomlinson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 47 years, Sharon Tomlinson of Jonesville; daughter, Julie Tomlinson of Jonesville; son, Jodie Tomlinson and wife Heather of West Monroe; grandchildren, Isaac Bath of Jena, Elliana Bath of Jonesville, Emma Tomlinson and Finn Tomlinson of West Monroe; great grandchild, Addy Smart of West Monroe; mother, Alpha Ford of Jonesville; siblings, Nancy Guin and Tim Tomlinson; host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Jim and Ann Sprinkle, and NW and Peggy Simpson; recognized and honored as family are all board members and staff of families helping families.
