I met Sherron when we worked together at Louisiana Technical College in Reserve, LA (2002), then we remained friends ever since. I'm from BR, so we kept in touch and visited fairly often. We spoke over the phone at least once a month, and she always remembered every one of my family members and any prayer requests for each of them. She prayed for them by name and would always remember them & ask about their situation the next time we talked. We shared funny stories about "senior" single life and some of the crazy men we dated, the fact that all men our age wanted women 20 years younger, and even the occasional online scammers who tried to get us to send them money! We got each other and the struggles of jobs, single life, etc... I'll never forget our day together on July 4th, just a year ago in 2019. Neither of us had money for a beach trip or getaway, so she came to my house in Gonzales, LA and we just sunbathed, chatted, and cooked burgers on the grill. This past February 2020, she visited my parents' house in BR for tea, and she looked fantastic! Always so cute, fashionable, and full of life! We touched base during COVID shutdown, and looked forward to our next meeting. When we last spoke in September, she talked about how much she loved her Sunday School class, and we agreed that I would visit soon. I never got to tell her goodbye, and I didn't even know she was sick or in the hospital. I'm stunned and sad that she's gone, but I know she is with her Savior Jesus Christ and she loved Him so much! That brings so much comfort, and I hope it comforts all of the family. I'm praying for all of you, especially her dear sister Arlene (I've heard so much about you!), her son Russ, and Julie, Ashton, and Cade.

Russ, Arlene and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Sherron's death. I lived across the street from Sherron in Azalea Lakes for almost 20 years. She was probably the first person I met in the neighborhood when I built my house in 1998. Sherron was a good neighbor and friend to me. She would watch over my house and water my plants while I was traveling. Unfortunately, I lost touch with Sherron when I moved out of the neighborhood in 2018. I am very sorry that we didn't talk after I left. I miss her calling to tell me she just made a fresh pot of coffee and inviting me over to drink some with her. I will miss her very much. What a kind, Christian lady she was! You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
