Obituary for Robert Squyres

Funeral services for Robert Earl Squyres will be at 9AM, Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Lake Lilly Baptist Church, Jonesville, LA. Visitation will be from 5PM until 9PM, Tuesday, June 28th and from 8AM until time of service at 9AM, Wednesday, June 29th at the church. Interment will be at Heard Cemetery, Manifest, La under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA. Robert Earl Squyres was born January 24, 1956, in Jonesville, La to Bobby Ray and Nola Jane Squyres. He passed from this life on June 22, 2022, at the age of 66. He was a loving father to three daughters. He had a passion for helping others. Robert served as Fire Chief of the Sandy Lake Fire Department for more than 25 years. He was assistant coroner in Catahoula Parish for 20 years. He retired from LaSalle General Hospital to spend his time tending his land and animals and fixing the many things that (he) broke. He was always available to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Ray and Nola Jane Squyres; his grandparents, Maloy and Pearl Bass and Milford and Hattie Squyres; one brother, Wayne Squyres. Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Meshell Squyres, Jan Aymond (Caleb), and Jennifer Michiels (Aaron); seven grandchildren, Peyton, Paige, and Matthew Spears; Hannah Aymond; and Abigail, Emilee, and Logan Michiels; one brother, David Ray Squyres, Sr. (Katherine) and Julia Kay Welch (Randall); close personal friend, Evie Thompson and her children, Hunter, Brad, Dewey, and Renee; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Aaron Michiels, Caleb Aymond, Wesley Hudnall, Peyton Spears, Josh Spears, and Landon Squyres. Honorary pallbearers are Anthony Squyres, Michael Squyres, Chuck Chevalier, and Roger Punchard.
