Services for Richard Knighten will be at 5PM, Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA. Visitation will be from 4PM until 9PM at the funeral home.
Richard Knighten of Texas City, Texas, went to be with his heavenly father on Wednesday, June 10, in Ferriday, Louisiana. He was born December 16, 1949 in Shreveport, Louisiana to parents Charles Knighten and Marvelene Holt. He was a proud Vietnam veteran. He retired in 1993 from truck driving for North American and spent the rest of his life caring for his children and grandchildren. He loved to fish, watch westerns, and spend time with his family. He was devoted to his wife Mary Ann and they were inseparable until her death in 2018.
He was a father of ten children – Curtis, Rebekkah, Charles, John Daniel, Ron, Tonya, Beth, Nioka, Katlyn, and Amee. He had 8 grandchildren – Tricia, Amber, Chris, Justin, Bailey, Lakynn, Jensen, and Leathia and 5 great grandchildren – Hailey, CJ, Gracelyn, Adalyn, and Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Mary Ann; his son Ron, and his parents, Marvelene and Charles.
