Services for Melton Neal Wheat will be at 10AM, Friday, July 10, 2020 at Pritchard Baptist Church, Jena, LA with Bro. Terry Doughty officiating. Visitation will be from 5PM, Thursday, July 9th until time of service at 10AM, Friday, July 10th at the church. Interment will be at Pritchard Cemetery, Rhinehart, LA under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.

Melton Neal Wheat, 89, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Reginald & Susan Elizabeth Wheat; two brothers, Howard Wheat & Reginald Wheat; two sisters, Mattie Smith & Mildred Masters.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 66 years, Jo Ann Kuhn Wheat of Jena; three daughters, Sharlott Faulkner and husband Richard of Belah, Sue Morris and husband Jackie of Whitehall and Mary Beth and husband Tim of Whitehall; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Bird, Eli Cooper, Ben Dosher, Todd Fannin, David Francis, Robert Huffman, Robert Joy and Jim Zeagler. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Faulkner, Jackie Morris, Tim McCartney, Brent McGuffee, Jimbo Grantham, David Jones, Brad Reagan and Chase Jenkins.
