Graveside services for Melissa Anne Slater will be at 2:30 PM, Friday, August 26, 2022 at Cushman Cemetery, Marksville, LA with Pastor John Boles officiating under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria. Visitation will be from 2PM until time of service at the cemetery.
Melissa Anne Slater, 40, of Pollock, LA passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in Zachary, LA. She was two-time cancer survivor. Because of her organ donations. She has helped save the lives of many. The family would like to thank everyone who helped make her final celebration possible. We couldn’t of done this without you.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lauri Suzanne Lyons Slater Gaspard; brother, Phillip Cole Gaspard; maternal and paternal grandparents; and uncle, Donnie Lyons of Alexandria, LA.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three sons, Gavin Michael Taylor, Gabriel Ray Taylor and Bentley Destin Wynn; sister, Sarah Gaspard of Pineville, LA; brother, Richard Caleb Gaspard of Missouri; her sister of the heart, Gina Wood of IL; love of her life, Darnell Taylor of IL; aunts, Louann of Alexandria, LA and Melanie Bergstrom of Houston, TX; father, Mike Slater of Bartonville, IL; sister, Allison and brother Kyle of Bergstrom, IL; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, to many to name.
Pallbearers will be Darnell Taylor, Tommy Gaspard, Gavin Taylor, Gabriel Taylor, Luke Turner and Tyler Slater.
