Services for Marla "MeMe" Rowena George will be at 11AM, Friday, December 31, 2021 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Olla, LA with Bro. Denver McBroom and Bro. Rickey Nugent officiating. Visitation will be from 5PM until 9PM, Thursday, December 30th and from 9AM until time of service at 11AM, Friday, December 31st at the church. Interment will be at Roberts Cemetery, Grayson, LA under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria. Marla "MeMe" George, 33, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center. She loved and adored her daughter Malaina. She enjoyed spending time with her sister Melissa and her family. She still to the end loved spending the night with each of her parents. Marla was very artistic and could draw anything. She had a huge passion for music. She lived through her music. She and Madi spent many hours listening to Pink Floyd. Marla was a spirit unlike any other. Now she is Free! Free to be what she wants to be. She was preceded in death by her son, Brodie Joe Esters; grandparents, Mary and Edgar George and Aubery and Rowena Peppers; along with aunts, uncles and cousins. Those left to cherish her memory include her parents, Dot Peppers and Gayland George; her spitting image daughter, Daisy Malaina George; sister and soul mate, Melissa Henry; dear friend, Lori Randall; half-sister, Lisa Saxon; special friend, Jonathan Esters; nieces, Chelcey Henry, Alayna Randall and her favorite niece, that she loved as her own, Madi Henry; great niece, Cara Culpepper, that kept MeMe on her toes; and a loving group of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that all loved her dearly; and of course, buddy, her little sidekick. Pallbearers will be Chad Jackson, James Masters, Brant Hinton, Eric Finch, Rodney George and Jason Peppers. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Hinton and Jerrod Miley.
