Obituary for Linda Wilkerson
Linda Wilkerson, 74, of Larto, Louisiana passed from this life, Friday, May 5, 2023.
She was a retired History teacher and professor and loved amazing her students with little known facts of history’s great leaders. She was also a skilled jewelry craftsperson and an excellent seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents “Mam and Pop”, Julia Nichols Crooks and Robert Lee Crooks; her mother, Joyce Crooks James and brother, Charles (Charlie) James II. She is survived by her sister, Janice James of Monroe, Louisiana; sister, Terri James Hayward and brother-in-law, Dr. Michael Hayward of Monroe, Louisiana, nieces Dr. Christiana Hayward Jameson and Annelies Hayward Smithey; nephews Thurner and Thomas Hayward.
She will also be missed by friends and relatives and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews of the Iles and Edwards families.
As per her request, there will be no funeral. Any memorials in her honor may be made to the charity of your choice or the Dwight D. Edwards Scholarship at Grant Preservation Board of Louisiana, 136 Red Oak Lane, Dry Prong, LA 71423 of which Linda was a significant contributor.
