Graveside services for Linda Girlinghouse will be at 10AM, Monday, July 18, 2022 at Woodland Cemetery, Jena, LA with Rev. Joey Paul officiating under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.

Linda Girlinghouse of Jena, Louisiana passed from this life
on Friday, July 15th quietly at her home in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana. Linda was the oldest child born to Chester and
Bernice Floyd on June 1st 1940. She was preceded in death by
both parents.
Linda graduated high school in Baker, Louisiana and
afterwards moved to Baton Rouge to raise her two children. She
was a homemaker but also worked many years at the state
capitol. Her home was always filled with the smell of delicious
food cooking. She was an avid cook with cakes, pies, and
traditional Cajun dishes being her specialties. Always ready with
a hot pot of coffee when her friends dropped by.
Linda was a wonderful mother that was completely devoted to her
children. Quick-witted, outspoken, and ready to talk politics, she
loved calling family and checking in on everyone. Thrilled to
become a grandmother and recently a great grandmother, she
always wanted updates on everyone.
Linda leaves behind to love and miss her, her son Kerry
Girlinghouse and wife Angela, and her daughter Kim
Girlinghouse, three grandchildren Connor Girlinghouse, Noelle
Morris, and Natalie Girlinghouse, and a great-grand daughter
Aspen Morris, a brother Jerrel Floyd, two sisters, Bonnie
Hernandez, and Sheila Dickson.
