Obituary for Linda Gammons (Barrell)
Linda B. Gammons, 73, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at The Oaks Care Center in Pineville, LA.
She was born February 16, 1947 in Houston, Texas to Merritt and Georgia Barrell. She married the love of her life and best friend, Ralph Gammons on March 19, 1978.
Linda had a larger than life personality...like the prettiest flamingo in the flock, she stood out and always made an impression. She loved playing cards, the lottery and her trips to the casino. She enjoyed having company, drinking coffee and talking. You could always count on her for some good conversation and the absolute best advice. She was so smart, but had a wonderful playfulness about her. She was most proud of her family whom she loved, as she would say, more than life itself.
She was preceded in death by parents, Wesley Merritt Barrell and Georgia Treanor; sister, Sherry Qualls; brother, William Barrell and grandson, Michael Butchee. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Ralph Gammons; daughter, Holly Qualls and husband, Johnny; daughter, Lisa Taylor and husband, Chuck; sister, Michele Guidry and husband, Jack; niece, Lily Poisso; five grandchildren, Chassidy Juckett and husband, Austin; Megan Gray and husband, Brandon; Katie Clinton and husband, Kyle; Jordan Arnold and William Qualls; six great grandchildren, Madisyn, Emma, Sadie, Cameron, Rowan and Carter (with little Cooper coming this May).
She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.
