Obituary for Lessie Lea McClure
Services for Lessie Lea Breithaupt McClure will be at 12PM, Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Whitehall United Pentecostal Church, Jena, LA with Rev. Joey Paul, Bro. Alax Paul and Rev. Randy Harper officiating. Visitation will be from 11AM until time of service at 12PM, Sunday, November 29th at the church. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery, Jena under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.
Lessie Lea Breithaupt McClure, 85, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at LaSalle Nursing Home. She spent most of her life married to, J.B. McClure, whom she always called, Junior. They were married for 67 wonderful years. She was an exceptional homemaker, a fantastic fryer of chicken, and the best baker of cakes and pies. The skills and attributes of her life are too numerous to name. She was a lifelong faithful member of Whitehall United Pentecostal Church. She was a gifted Sunday school teacher who taught several generations of children. As a teenager she sang in the Breithaupt Trio. She felt her greatest accomplishments in life were raising her five children, and helping rear her grandchildren. She loved deeply, was always kind hearted and gentle of spirit. The void she leaves is profound, and we will continue to trust the God she taught us to serve through our grief.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Terry and Teadie Breithaupt; brothers, Aulcie, Leslie and Terry Breithaupt; and sister, Ernestine Robertson.
Those left to cherish her memory include husband, Joseph Bennett McClure; son, Dexter McClure and wife Reba of Jena, son, Conrad McClure and wife Cynthia of Natchitoches, son, Alan McClure and wife Becky of Jena, son, Kevin McClure of Plano, TX and daughter, Sylvia and husband Rev. Joey Paul of Jena; sister, Emogene Maxey of Jena; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Quinten McClure, Cort Paul, Alax Paul, Dylan Williams, Joseph McClure and John Stephens II. Honorary pallbearers will be Ashton McClure, Randall McClure, Stephen McClure and Samuel Spinks.
