Obituary for Kelby Patten
Services for Kelby Patten will be at 2PM, Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Life Church of LaSalle, Trout, LA with Pastor Steve Cripps officiating. Visitation will be from 5PM until 9PM, Friday, September 11th and from 12PM until time of service at 2PM, Saturday, September 12th at the church. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Manifest, LA under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.
Kelby Patten, 49, passed Monday September 7, 2020 at Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX. Kelby loved his family! His second favorite love in life was likely a tie between LSU football and Batman. These would be quickly followed by the food network channel. He enjoyed fishing and sitting around a table playing Rook and eating. Kelby loved to talk and visit with anyone who wanted to. It could have been a complete stranger and he would have sat there for hours and entertained conversation. Simply put, Kelby Patten was a family man.
He was preceded in death by his, parents, Dale and Evelyn Patten; sister, Janette Patten Coley; brothers, Glyn Patten and Avery Patten; niece, Natalie Patten; nephew, Ernest Coley; and mother-in-law, Gayle Meredith.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Barbara Gayle Meredith-Patten of Olla; son, Valcom Glyn Patten of Olla; daughters, Meagan Alexis Patten (Jenna Manso) of St. Amant, Katlyn Morgan Patten (Aaron Johnson) of Urania, Kensley Victoria Patten (Jorey Jenkins) of Jena; sister, Sherri Skinner of Jonesville; brother, James “Timbo” Patten (Hope) of Jonesville; father-in-law, James Richard Meredith of Olla; sister-in-law’s, Gwen Patten-Mashburn of Holt, FL, Sharon Copeland Patten of Crestview, FL and Stacy Foy of Olla; brother-in-law’s, Eddie Coley of Jonesville and James Roy Meredith (Hannah) of Kelly; uncles, Leon Patten (Theresa) of Jonesville and Joe Tullos of Manifest; aunts, Bib Patten of Jonesville, Toostie Patten of Jonesville and Carolyn Patten of Harrisonburg; grandchildren, Rayven Maynor, Phoenix Maynor, Phoebe Manso, Kaylee Silas, Mia Silas, Zaiden Johnson, Skylar Gayle Johnson and Jonas Jenkins; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Grant Coley, Terry Head, James Roy Meredith, Jeremy Patten, Timothy Patten, Ethan Skinner, Nelson Skinner and Toby Skinner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Nagler, John Meredith, Peyton Foy, Cole Meredith and Spencer Foy.
