Services for Katrina Rochelle Brooks “Shelly” will be at 3PM, Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA with Bro. Brandon Poole officiating. Visitation will be from 2PM until time of service at 3PM, Saturday, March 5th at the funeral home. Interment will be at Belah Cemetery, Trout, LA under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.
Katrina Rochelle Brooks “Shelly”, 61, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at her home. Shelly was a devoted and doting mother of her daughter and three dogs. She was a 1979 graduate of Jena High School in which she was voted Miss JHS. With over 30 years of service as a cardiac and home health nurse across Louisiana, a graduate of USL/ University of Louisiana of Lafayette; fiercely independent but always willing to help those in need; ardent and passionate sports fan; long time resident of West Monroe; beloved by all who knew her and whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl K. Brooks; brother, Kevin Brooks; nephew, Tyler Brooks; grandparents, Luther Cockerham Sr. and his wife Earnestine and Eddie Brooks and his wife Pauline.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Lacy Brooks; mother, Rose Brooks; sister, Misty Ray; brothers, Jason and Jarrod Brooks; nephew, Jacob Ray and niece, Mindy Brooks as well as a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be David Sherrill, Clint Norris, Mike Bradford, Nicky Bradford, Mark Hamilton and Jacob Ray.
