Services for Hazel Kathleen McCarthy will be at 2PM, Friday, February 10, 2023 at Oak Grove Free Methodist Church, Jonesville, LA with Bro. Emitte Belgard, Bro. Aaron Jolly and Bro. Beau Edwards officiating. Visitation will be from 11AM until time of service at 2PM, Friday, February 10th at the church. Interment will be at Heard Cemetery, Manifest, LA under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.
Hazel Kathleen McCarthy, better known as Maw Kat, 87, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Lessie Ford; husband, Illy McCarthy; and sister, Ida Coldiron.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Stevie McCarthy and wife Julie of Jonesville, LA; daughters, Kathy Gardner of Deville, LA, Connie Parker of Jena, LA, Donna Gallup of Jena, LA and Rhonda Morris of Aimwell, LA; 10 grandchildren, Todd Gardner, Dusty Gardner, Lauren Parker, Christopher McCarthy, Allison Smith, Casey Poole, Matt Dupuis, Daisy Wright, Eric Morris and April Williams; 11 great grandchildren, Briana Nugent, Brody Edwards, Rylee Edwards, Lilly Thomas, Lee Edwards, Bailey Edwards, Keagan McCarthy, Mallory Poole, Levi Morris, Noah Morris, Jackson Williams and Dawson Williams; 1 brother, Ernest Ford of Donaldsonville, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Todd Gardner, Dusty Gardner, Vincent Williams, Christopher McCarthy, Kirby Dayton and Lloyd Breithaupt. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
