On March 21, 2021, Karen Creel Watson, 64 of Jonesville, entered into her Heavenly home. Karen has been a faithful, Godly, dedicated Holy Ghost prayer warrior at New Life Pentecostal Church for the past 28 years. She had a love for God and was a wonderful role model to so many of us. She spent many hours fasting and praying in her prayer closet. She loved her church and church family just like she loved her own family. They were all brothers and sisters to her. We, her family, have been so blessed to have her to love us, pray for us and to witness to us. She whole heartily lived by Gods word. We know she’s always talked about being ready for this day. Karen was a life-long resident of Jonesville, LA, were she worked in the school system for many years in the cafeteria before she decided to stay home so she could spend time with and spoil her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Rosalie Creel; father-n-law, L.W. (Cub) Watson; daughters, Christy Lynn Watson and Tessa Lee Watson; siblings, Norman Creel, Owie Creel, Marty Creel and Shelia Creel; and brother-n-law, Lanny Vestal.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 47 years, Doyle Watson; son, Kevin Watson and wife Chasity; grandchildren, Leanna Dodge and fiancé J’davyion Haynes; Harlee Dosher and Kyle Watson; sister, Brenda Vestal; brother, Kenny Creel and wife Linda; mother-n-law, Wilma Watson; sister-n-law, Lanette Book and husband Layne; She also has a host of nieces, nephews and tons of friends that she considered family.

Pallbearers will be Lance Vestal, Alicia Vestal, Kris Creel, Timothy Creel, Ken Creel and Nathan Wiley. Honorary pallbearers will be Layne Book, Kyle Watson and Lane McCarthy.
