Services for JW “Skeet” Cooper will be at 10AM, Monday, November 21, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church, Jena, LA with Bro. Mike Russell and Bro. Todd Whittington officiating. Visitation will be from 5PM, Sunday, November 20th until time of service at 10AM, Monday, November 21st at the church. Interment will be at Summerville Baptist Church Cemetery, Summerville, LA under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.
JW “Skeet” Cooper, 81, of Jena, LA passed away Friday, November 18, 2022 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brett Cooper; parents, Henry and Polly Cooper; brothers, Henry Jr Cooper and Woody Cooper; and sister, Virginia Carson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Roselea Smith Cooper; son, Todd Cooper (Tabatha); brother, Bob Cooper (Delores); grandchildren, Jamie Bryan (Aaron), Justin Cooper (Anna) and Ty Cooper; great grandchildren, Haydn, Grayson and Lawson Cooper, Beckham and Emmy Bryan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tim Auman, Jamie Estis, Hunter Estis, Samuel Keene, Dustin Keene, Rusty Cooper, Marty Cooper and Bill Melder. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Merle Francis, Sherman McDowell, Buddy Banks, Billy Pounds, Justin Messina, Weldon Nugent and Johnny Nugent.
