Obituary for Gene Lofton
Graveside services for Gene Lofton will be at 2PM, Friday, February 26, 2021, at Pinehill Cemetery, Olla, LA, with Bro. Bo Prather officiating under direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA.
Gene Lofton, 86, was born October 2, 1934 and passed away February 23, 2021. Gene worked for Urania Lumber Company as a truck driver but worked most of his life in the oilfield, which he dearly loved. He always loved to be around his oilfield buddies and talk and laugh about the “Good Old Times” they had. They worked hard but yet had a good time also. He was a good story teller and liked being in a crowd telling stories just to make them laugh. A lot of people remember him in that way and that is the way he would want to be remembered.
He was preceded in death by his parents, D.L. Lofton and Ernestine Kilby Lofton; son, Richard Dale Lofton and his first wife, Bettie Keiffer Lofton; sister, Irma Lofton Cotten.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty years, Sue Tate Lofton; son, Joey Gale Lofton; 2 step children, Randy Crocker and Mandy Crocker Hodges (David); 4 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; nephew David Cotten (April); niece, Melisa Cotten Cline.
