Obituary

Services for David Nathan Cooper will be at 10AM, Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Trinity Baptist Church, Jena, Louisiana with Bro. Mike Russell and Bro. Tyler Stevison officiating. Visitation will be from 5PM until 9PM, Monday October 5th and from 8AM until time of service at 10AM, Tuesday October 6th at the church. Interment will be at Jena Cemetery, Jena, LA under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.

David Nathan Cooper, 63, passed away October 3rd at Rapides Regional Medical Center. David was an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his lifetime. He spent 46 years of his life on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico and other places around the world. You could find him at home in the hay fields or tinkering around in his shop. He had the greatest love for his dear wife Tammy. He and Tammy would spend their days around their home or traveling to various places together. His heartbeat was his grandchildren. He loved them with every fiber of his being. If you looked up Pawpaw in the dictionary, his face would be there. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Billie Cooper; brother, Ray Cooper, Jr; grandparents, Hayden Burlew, Sr. and Louella Burlew.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and faithful wife, Tammy Cooper; daughter, Stacy Turnage and husband Charles Turnage; daughter, Tracy Cooper; daughter, Kayla Womack and husband James Womack; grandchildren, Bailey and Tate Turnage, Madison, Molly, and Macy Wiley, Camden, Paisley, and Oaklen Womack; sister, Shelia Cooper Mason and husband Kenny Mason; a host of nieces and nephews, family members, friends and co-workers.

Pallbearers will be Scott Bass, Alvin Sanson, Joe Davis, Jory Goeggle, Justin Goeggle, Jonathan McClendon, Wayne Cooper and Jr. Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be Grandsons, Tate Turnage, Camden Womack, Oaklen Womack; Son In Laws, James Womack and Charles Turnage; Friends and co-workers, Gabe Sellers, Chase Bates, Pete Prudhomme, Jeffrey Estes, Donnie Cooper, All of the workers at LLOG cooperation and the West Neptune rig, Henry Granger, John Goeggle, Jr., George Beard, Mark Moore, Mark Taylor, Roger Wilson, Eddie Brown, Andre Morace, Barney Johnson, David Burlew and Eddie Burlew.
