Gosh! Where do I began?...........I’ve know this family all of my life, and enjoyed every visit and cup of coffee I had with them! I became even closer to them when I became August’s Interpreter when she was in 8th grade. God put this family thru a very hard test, they lost their home and every piece of clothes they owned! I a talked to the principal, and had every size of clothes written down. Needless to say clothes started pouring in by garbage bags full, thank God I had a truck! I was there most everyday!
But for mawmaw Merle that was just just a stepping stone, she had such faith! She always told me, “ God’s going to provide, my baby, just put it in His hands!”
My dad often helped by going to bring Calvin to his Dr. or going to get their medicine
or getting their groceries. He and David always enjoyed their time together!
When they were rebuilding their home, David called daddy and needed someone to haul some post and wood, of course he went picked David up and off they went!
I loved to hear all the old stories about the past and the history about the Civil War!!
Especially when the Indian’s came thru over around where they lived! David was so knowledgeable about this! I consider myself privileged to learn so much from him!
As time passed, the Lord called his daddy home, then they had to put Calvin in the nursing home. But mawmaw Merle still kept the faith of a mustard seed!!
Goldie and David never left each other’s side! They may not have agreed on a lot, but the love of a family was there!!
Then not long ago God put them thru the biggest test any individual can have!…………… fire engulfed their home! Only this time came a tragedy!
They were all able to get out, except for one, mawmaw Merle! Yes, the momma, the grandma, the great grandma and our pray warrior! God needed another flower for the Masters bouquet 💐, and what a beautiful one He chose!!
After the loss of his momma, David wasn’t able to get over this. His spirit for life, his want to live, his smiles and stories were no longer there!! He long to be with his momma and his family, again! God answered his prayer on Friday, May 13th. As he took his last breath here in this oil’ world, he opened his eyes to see the pearly gates and all his love ones walking on the streets of gold!!
Thank you David for all the wonderful memories that you left us, you will be greatly missed!!
To the family, please know that I’m praying for God to wrap His loving arms around each of you, and give you the comfort and strength you need today, tomorrow and all the day’s ahead!! I Love You! ❤️🤟🙏
