Catharine McDaniel, 70, of Boyce, LA, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA.
Born in Los Angeles, CA, on November 22, 1949 she moved to Louisiana in 1979 where she remained until her death. She was an extraordinary mother, grandmother and friend. She was a provider, mentor and confidant that truly loved unconditionally. Her home was always open and no one was ever turned away. She helped so many people through anything and everything. Her family was her passion. She enjoyed travelling to visit family, playing slots at the casino and she hated having her picture taken. Cathie will be remembered as being the most stubborn, selfless, generous and compassionate person. She was the heart and soul of the family, by blood and by love, and we will carry her memory with us forever.
Cathie is survived by her 5 children and 1 stepdaughter, Cathie Caron, John Smith, Veronica Perkins and husband Mitch, Danny Dydzyk, Shamus Setliff and Stacy Miller. Cathie also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and countless extended children, grandchildren and great grandchildren because she never had a child cross her path that she didn’t take in as family. To her, family is about love not just blood.
