Bonnie Rae Morris Mophett, daughter of Wince and Dorothy Edwards Morris, was born June 12, 1935 and passed from this life on 29, 2020 at the age of 85. She was a 1953 graduate of Harrisonburg High School. She was a member of the Lady Dawgs basketball and softball team. She was competitive and loved a challenge. She coached Jr. Guild girls’ softball and enjoyed her Thursday bowling days and tournaments with her bowling team. She was also strong willed and independent. She loved the Lord, her family, and friends. She was very fond of singing gospel music with her Wallace Ridge group where they sang in many churches. She always knew how to make light of every situation and just went with life as it came. She handled hardships with Grace that could only be done with the help of our Lord. She enjoyed her beach get-a-ways with her best friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her Sicily Island Sr. friends and sharing her gift of caring for plants. She definitely had a green thumb. She was an encourager to her family and friends. She was an active member in the community for many years. She served on the Louisiana Soybean Festival Board, was a member of the Jonesville Junior Guild and served as Catahoula Parish Constable for 8 years. Although we will miss her greatly, we are at peace knowing that she is free from suffering in this world and is in her eternal home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubry Roy Mophett; her parents; two brothers, Milton Eugene Morris, Wince Morris, Jr.; six sisters: Lilac Bass, Bernice Wheeler, Biela Neal, Rose Jones, Betty Bradshaw, Lucy Smith and Marie Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Greg (Charla) Mophett of Natchez, MS and Stephen (Robin) Mophett of Jonesville; eight grandchildren, Jared (Caroline) Mophett of Harrisonburg, Kendra Mophett Clement of Monroe, Briana Mophett, Cullen Mophett and Braylen Mophett all of Natchez; Gareth Mophett, Gavin Mophett and Bailey Mophett all of Jonesville; sister, Marjorie Peschier of Lake Charles; and five great grandchildren, Claire Clement, Madden Mophett, Morgan Mophett, Ruby Mophett and Beau Mophett.

Pallbearers will be Jared Mophett, Cullen Mophett, Gareth Mophett, Gavin Mophett, Robbie Smith and Michael Jones. Honorary Pallbearers are Madden Mophett, David Wayne Neal.
